US Navy Seal Stephen White was Pat Tillman's friend and gave a eulogy at the May 2004 memorial service. White was put in the position of unknowingly telling the government's lie about how Pat Tillman died, "My role as far as at the memorial - it's a horrible thing that happened with Pat. I'm the guy that told America how he died basically at that memorial and it was incorrect. That does not sit well with me."

In an October 2001 video, Osama bin Laden said, "We swore that America would not live in security until we live it truly in Palestine. This showed the reality of America, which puts Israel's interest above its own people's interest. America will not get out of this crisis until it gets out of the Arabian Peninsula, and until it stops its support of Israel." He was reiterating motives he and others have expressed for years.

Bin Laden issued a 1996 Fatwa titled "Declaration of War against the Americans Occupying the Land of the Two Holy Places (the Arabian Peninsula)." It said "the people of Islam had suffered from aggression, iniquity and injustice imposed on them by the Zionist-Crusaders alliance and their collaborators. ... their blood was spilled in Palestine and Iraq." And it said their wealth was looted and "in the hands of the enemies." In 1998, bin Laden and others issues another fatwa.

The 1998 Fatwa lists three "crimes and sins" which motive them to attack the United States:
  • U.S. occupation of the Arabian Peninsula.
  • U.S. aggression against the Iraqi people.
  • U.S. support of Israel
The fatwa states that the United States:
  • Plunders the resources of the Arabian Peninsula.
  • Dictates policy to the rulers of those countries.
  • Supports abusive regimes and monarchies in the Middle East, thereby oppressing their people.
  • Has military bases and installations upon the Arabian Peninsula, which violates the Muslim holy land, in order to threaten neighboring Muslim countries.
  • Intends thereby to create disunion between Muslim states, thus weakening them as a political force.
  • Supports Israel, and wishes to divert international attention from (and tacitly maintain) the occupation of Palestine.
The Persian Gulf War, the ensuing sanctions against Iraq and the bombing of Iraq by the United States were cited in 1998 as further proof of these allegations. The fatwa uses Islamic texts to exhort violent action against American military and citizenry until the alleged grievances are reversed, stating "ulema have throughout Islamic history unanimously agreed that the jihad is an individual duty if the enemy destroys the Muslim countries."

In a 2004 video, again acknowledging responsibility for the attacks, bin Laden states that he was motivated by Israel's actions in the 1982 Lebanon War, for which he held the U.S. responsible for supporting Israel. He says he started thinking about attacking the Twin Towers "after things had gone too far and we saw the injustice of the US-Israeli alliance against our people in Palestine and Lebanon." In the video, bin Laden also claims that he wants to "restore freedom to our nation," to "punish the aggressor in kind." Bin Laden explains, "security is an indispensable pillar of human life and that free men do not forfeit their security, contrary to Bush's claim that we hate freedom" and "even though we are in the fourth year after the events of September 11th, Bush is still engaged in distortion, deception and hiding from you the real causes." As noted above, Bin Laden has said the attacks will continue until specific foreign policies are ended, "We swore that America would not live in security until we live it truly in Palestine. This showed the reality of America, which puts Israel's interest above its own people's interest. America will not get out of this crisis until it gets out of the Arabian Peninsula, and until it stops its support of Israel."

"Bin Laden had been pressuring KSM (Khalid Shaikh Mohammed) for months to advance the attack date. According to KSM, bin Laden had even asked that the attacks occur as early as mid-2000, after Israeli opposition party leader Ariel Sharon caused an outcry in the Middle East by visiting a sensitive and contested holy site in Jerusalem that is sacred to both Muslims and Jews. Although bin Laden recognized that Atta and the other pilots had only just arrived in the United States to begin their flight training, the al-Qaida leader wanted to punish the United States for supporting Israel. He allegedly told KSM it would be sufficient simply to down the planes and not hit specific targets. KSM withstood this pressure, arguing that the operation would not be successful unless the pilots were fully trained and the hijacking teams were larger." The 9/11 Commission Report determined that the animosity towards the United States felt by Khalid Shaikh Mohammed, the "principal architect" of the 9/11 attacks, stemmed "not from his experiences there as a student, but rather from his violent disagreement with U.S. foreign policy favoring Israel." The same motivation was shared by the two pilots, Mohamed Atta and Marwan al-Shehhi, who flew into the WTC: Atta was described by Ralph Bodenstein—who traveled, worked and talked with him, as "most imbued actually about... U.S. protection of these Israeli politics in the region." "When someone asked why he and Atta never laughed, Shehhi retorted,"How can you laugh when people are dying in Palestine?" - 9/11 Report Abdulaziz al-Omari, a hijacker aboard Flight 11 with Mohammed Atta, said in his video will, "My work is a message those who heard me and to all those who saw me at the same time it is a message to the infidels that you should leave the Arabian peninsula defeated and stop giving a hand of help to the coward Jews in Palestine." - Guardian

The Bush administration insists that Al-Qaeda was motivated by hatred of the freedom, democracy and civil liberties exemplified by the United States. In a speech in 2001, President Bush lied, "They hate what we see right here in this chamber - a democratically elected government. Their leaders are self-appointed. They hate our freedoms - our freedom of religion, our freedom of speech, our freedom to vote and assemble and disagree with each other." Responding to Bush's claim that they hate freedom, Bin Laden said "the Mujahideen saw the black gang of thugs in the White House hiding the Truth, and their stupid and foolish leader, who is elected and supported by his people, denying reality and proclaiming that we (the Mujahideen) were striking them because we were jealous of them (the Americans), whereas the reality is that we are striking them because of their evil and injustice in the whole of the Islamic World, especially in Iraq and Palestine and their occupation of the Land of the Two Holy Sanctuaries, " in his Feb. 14, 2003 tape. Bin Laden remarked in 2004, "Let him tell us why we did not strike Sweden, for example. It is known that those who hate freedom do not have proud souls, like the souls of the 19 people [killed while perpetrating the 11 September 2001 attacks], may God have mercy on them. We fought you because we are free and do not accept injustice. We want to restore freedom to our nation. Just as you waste our security, we will waste your security. "

Old Blogger to Google "User account not found" Problem Fix

If you use Blogger you probably got this message: "To continue, you need to sign in to Blogger with your Google Account. The new version of Blogger requires a Google Account to access your blog's features"

Some people are having a problem with a message "User account not found" when you try to migrate from one to the other. I have found that the problem is that it is case sensitive. So if it automatically says your user name is HappyDay, the computer may be expecting happyday. The way I fixed it was to look for your username in the URL which is what is bringing the name over in the user name box which is not editable. You have to change the caps in the URL and then hit enter. That worked for me, if my name was HappyDay, I changed it it happyday in the URL and entered that URL to go to the next page which then had my user name in lower case and the user name was found.

My Reply:

I doubt you have spent more time than me. Regardless, can you at least address the point I made? You called it "bullshit" but you didn't explain why. How is it that the exterior columns were bowing inward BEFORE the collapse, in fact, many, many minutes before the collapse? And the bowing increased up until the collapse.

I already have read wtc7.net. The only time they address the bowing was to insist that we are not seeing what we are seeing. Jim Hoffman wants you to think it is an optical illusion caused by hot air that happened to be caught at the right time in a single photo. (he then ignores the fact that NIST presents other photos showing exterior columns bowed inward!) BUT AN OPTICAL ILLUSION!? No way in hell does hot air mimic a perfect lens that increases its bending of light ALL IN ONE DIRECTION and over MANY minutes. Hoffman is desperately concocting an excuse to explain away what we see happening to the buildings. He ignores the fact that it was seen by police helicopters from different angles. So are the witnesses lying about what they saw? As you circle the buildings, no way would this imaginary hot air lens create the impression that the columns bowed inward all in the same way, all in the same direction and to INCREASE their bending inward over many minutes. He ignores the fact that it was captured in photos FROM DIFFERENT ANGLES over many minutes. Hoffman's hot air theory is just that, hot air.

* The very thing that Griffin points to as a feature of a fire caused collapse we can see in photos of the World Trade Center.

Griffin writes, "in fire-induced collapses---if we had any examples of such---the onset would be gradual. Horizontal beams and trusses would begin to sag; vertical columns, if subjected to strong forces, would begin to bend. But as videos of the towers show, there were no signs of bending or sagging, even on the floors just above the damage caused by the impact of the planes." But contrary to what Griffin claims, there were indeed signs of bending or sagging. Witnesses reported it and photos document it. Griffin is simply wrong.

Griffin erroneously writes "The buildings were perfectly motionless up to the moment they began their collapse." The fact is, before the collapse of either tower, evidence the structures of the WTC were failing, columns bending, floors sagging, was reported by Police, Firemen and civilians. We can see in the photos that the exterior columns were bowing in the minutes before the collapse, in the case of the South Tower, the bending was evident as early as 18 minutes after the plane's impact.

Eric Alterman reveals, "I went to a forum for Jewish student journalists last week ... Ruth R. Wisse said quite a few things I found amazing. One was instructing these young journalists and budding intellectuals that they should think of themselves as a kind of adjunct to the Israeli army and ignore all intellectual distinctions, issues of personal honesty, moral complications, etc., and just defend Israel against its attackers. It reminded me of the time that Norman Podhoretz insisted, years ago, that "the role of Jews who write in both the Jewish and general press is to defend Israel," period. Talk about your dual loyalties. Talk about your intellectual dishonesty. ... Scary that these kids were hearing this stuff from a Harvard professor.

... Also amazing, I thought, was Wisse's contention that Commentary is the most influential Jewish magazine in history. ... Take a look at the magazine right now. ... last month it published Amir Taheri, here, who is the guy who made up that false report about Iranian Jews being forced to wear yellow stars. I don't feel like going into all the arguments these articles imply and the terrible things they imply about a group of Jewish propagandists-posing-as-intellectuals, but given the fact that for literally decades, Commentary was probably the single best magazine in America -- I read every issue of every good magazine from the 1945-50 period for what was going to be a doctoral thesis, and it certainly was then -- it's beyond sad. More significantly, however, isn't this just the kind of thing anti-Semites accuse Jews of saying and doing? If I were the kind of person to attribute the actions of a few to an entire ethnic group -- and were not a member of that group myself -- I swear, this kind of thing would get me thinking unkosher thoughts about the people that the racist Murray insists are God's Chosen People. The aggressors themselves at the same time were attributing fabricated bellicose statements to Nasser, taking earlier writings of his out of context and grossly changing their sense, etc. The distortions of Western propaganda, which in this case reflect a remarkable degree of moral cowardice quite apart from the falsification of the facts, remained effective even after the outright aggression by Israel, France and England. In particular, it is still widely held that Israel's aggression was in fact defensive, at worst a "preemptive strike" in response to Nasser's threats. Why Do They Do This?

A very popular website keeps insisting that the World Trade Center was brought down by Controlled Demolition. On that site they show you a picture of a steel column that has been cut. But the steel column was cut by an ironworker during the clean up. You can see a cut just like it being made by an iron worker during the clean up of the WTC at this link.
