Zionists Manipulate Public Forums on the Internet

The Israeli government's Foreign Ministry is involved in efforts to influence public opinion on the Internet. Israel's Foreign Ministry orders Internet propagandists, so called "trainee diplomats," to skew online polls and public forums to conform with the Israeli line. This is an organized effort, using "special 'megaphone' software," to alert "hundreds of thousands of Jewish activists" so they can manipulate Internet websites and chatrooms to conform with the slant that already permeates mainstream media.
Israeli Army of Cyber-Soldiers Target Our Right to Know
Yonit Farago in Jerusalem reports: "Israel's Government has thrown its weight behind efforts by supporters to counter what it believes to be negative bias and a tide of pro-Arab propaganda. The Foreign Ministry has ordered trainee diplomats to track websites and chatrooms so that networks of US and European groups with hundreds of thousands of Jewish activists can place supportive messages.

In the past week nearly 5,000 members of the World Union of Jewish Students (WUJS) have downloaded special "megaphone" software that alerts them to anti-Israeli chatrooms or internet polls to enable them to post contrary viewpoints. A student team in Jerusalem combs the web in a host of different languages to flag the sites so that those who have signed up can influence an opinion survey or the course of a debate.

Jonny Cline, of the international student group, said that Jewish students and youth groups with their understanding of the web environment were ideally placed to present another side to the debate.

"We're saying to these people that if Israel is being bashed, don't ignore it, change it," Mr Cline said. "A poll like CNN's takes just a few seconds to vote in, but if thousands take part the outcome will be changed. What's vital is that the international face of the conflict is balanced."

Doron Barkat, 29, in Jerusalem, spends long nights trawling the web to try to swing the debate Israel's way. "When I see internet polls for or against Israel I send out a mailing list to vote for Israel," he said. "It can be that after 15 minutes there will be 400 votes for Israel."

"It's very satisfying. There are also forums where Lebanese and Israelis talk."

Israel's Foreign Ministry must avoid direct involvement with the campaign but is in contact with international Jewish and evangelical Christian groups, distributing internet information packs.

Amir Gissin, the Israeli Foreign Ministry's public relations director, said: "The internet's become a leading tool for news, shaping the world view of millions. Our problem is the foreign media shows Lebanese suffering, but not Israeli. We're bypassing that filter by distributing pictures showing how northern Israelis suffer from Katyusha rocket attacks." - Israel backed by army of cyber-soldiers

Israel Targets Red Cross Ambulances

"Even in a war which has turned the roads of south Lebanon into killing zones, Israel's rocket strike on two clearly marked Red Cross ambulances on Sunday night set a deadly new milestone." - Red Cross ambulances destroyed in Israeli air strike on rescue mission
Israel Targets Red Cross Ambulances
The roof of this ambulance was hit during an Israeli air strike, according to Lebanese Red Cross workers who shot the video from which this image was taken. Associated Press Photo

Photographs have emerged showing a Lebanese ambulance was bombed earlier this week even though the vehicle was clearly marked as an emergency vehicle. The photos show the roof of the ambulance smashed and pockmarked. Robert Fisk of the London Independent wrote that Israel’s missiles pierced the very centre of the red cross painted on the roof, raising speculation the pilots used the cross as a target. - Israel Bombs Infrastructure, Relief Trucks, Ambulance

"The Red Cross in Tyre said that five of its volunteers and three patients were wounded when Israeli aircraft attacked two ambulances on Sunday night. The attack took place near Qana when an ambulance from Tyre arrived to evacuate three patients from the border town of Tibnin.

The drivers said that two guided missiles were fired at each ambulance. Three patients - a woman, her son and grandson - were all re-injured, the son losing his leg to a direct hit from one of the kinetic-energy anti-tank missiles.

Ambulance drivers - until Sunday night the only people able to drive out into the killing zone - report that the roads around Tibnin are strewn with wrecked vehicles and uncollected bodies. The Red Cross has now been forced to abandon all attempts to rescue wounded from Tibnin." - Ambulances fired on by Israel, says Red Cross

Sincere and decent people make an attempt to discuss facts

Michael,

How in the world do you think you are "the mighty middle?" You are an extremist. Most people don't get to see the facts that I posted, you on the other hand have seen them. For you to have the audacity to call it " anti-semite bullshit" shows you are a dishonest extremist. NOTHING was "anti-semitic" NOTHING was "bullshit".

Sincere and decent people make an attempt to discuss facts brought to their atention. Yes, many people support Israel but they have not had the opportunity to see the facts. A big part of the reason for that is the manipulative tactic of threatening to accuse or accusing people who dare to point out the truth of being "anti-Semitic." And "Chomskyite"?!?, why don't you drop the grade school tactics which are absolutely destructive to honest and open debate. You erect barriers to allowing yourself to see the truth. Wouldn't want to turn into a "Chomskyite" or be "anti-Semitic" now would you? So you can't even for a second consider the facts I posted can you? Do you see what ugly and absurd game you are playing? You poison public discourse, perhaps that is your goal? Sabotage honest attempts at dialog so that facts you don't want discussed can not be?

Not all Jews support these injustices. Why not drop the game playing and nasty attacks and listen to what other Jews are saying? (in addition to Chomsky and Finkelstein.) Matania Ben-Artzi has the moral courage and the honesty to confront the Israeli Supreme Court President, Aharon Barak, on his wrong doings. So don't lie about what I wrote.

"Your Court has shamefully succumbed to every whim of the military. Innocent youths were kidnapped in Lebanon to be used as bargaining chips - and your Court approved it. Administrative detentions were imposed by the thousands - but all the appeals to you were dismissed. Targeted killings that took the lives of hundreds of innocent bystanders, cruel closures that wreaked havoc among millions of Palestinians (so that Jewish fanatics could be unabated in their festivities), inhumane destruction of the livelihood of tens of thousands of families--all these have been repeatedly legitimized by your Court."

You have not even made an attempt to refute any of the points I raised, all you can do is sling mud and make contrived complaints about what people consider to be a perfectly normal thing to do, quote sources.
( this guy responded to my original posts(see below) with this:
"Tom: Please do not come here and cut and paste stuff you found on Chomskyite websites. Do your own writing -- like the rest of us do. #2.1 michael reynolds (http://www.mightymiddle.com) on Jul 28 2006, 08:40"

and this: "Tom doesn't care what I wrote, he's trying to drive traffic to Chomskyite websites. What I actually say is irrelevant so long as he perceives an opportunity to cut and paste some anti-semite bullshit. #3.2 michael reynolds (http://www.mightymiddle.com) on Jul 28 2006, 08:46"

My origninal posts:
" Israel routinely takes Palestinians, Lebanese hostage. In fact, Israel was the only country in the world, in 1997, which legalized hostage-taking. The liberal head of the Israeli High Court, Aharon Barak, he said it's legal, legitimate, under international law to take what he called bargaining chips in order to get prisoners, Israeli prisoners being held by the Lebanese. The decision was reversed in 2000, but Israel continued to hold Lebanese hostages until 2004. So, at worst, Hamas is being accused of what Israel legalized and routinely does.

There are "9,000 Palestinians who are effectively hostages being held by Israel. 1,000 of them are administrative detainees ... who are being held without any charges or trial. And the other 8,000 are being held after military courts have convicted them, almost always on the basis of confessions which were extracted by torture. So if we're going to look simply at the numbers" [there are three Israelis SOLDIERS held] But "effectively we have about 9,000 on the Israeli side."
http://www.normanfinkelstein.com/article.php?pg=11&ar=241

Israel should not be occupying the Golan Heights and it should not be refusing to give the maps to the mine fields they planted in sothern Lebanon. And for God sakes, Israel should give back the "bargaining chips" they have held for decades.

"Hizbullah kept telling the world how keen it was to return the soldiers in a prisoner swap.
Hundreds of dead in Lebanon, at least 1,000 severely injured and more than half a million refugees -- all because Israel is not ready to sit down at the negotiating table. "

#1 Tom Murphy (http://representativepress.blogspot.com/) on Jul 27 2006, 23:50

"Rather than open diplomatic channels to calm the violence down and start the process of getting its soldiers back, Israel launched bombing raids deep into Lebanese territory the same day. ... Israel continued its rampage across the south and into Beirut, where the airport, roads, bridges, and power stations were pummelled. We now know from reports in the US media that the Israeli army had been planning such a strike against Lebanon for at least a year. In contrast to the image of Hizbullah frothing at the mouth to destroy Israel, its leader Hassan Nasrallah held off from serious retaliation. For the first day and a half, he limited his strikes to the northern borders areas, which have faced Hizbullah attacks in the past and are well protected. He waited till late on June 13 before turning his guns on Haifa, even though we now know he could have targeted Israel’s third largest city from the outset. A small volley of rockets directed at Haifa caused no injuries and looked more like a warning than an escalation.

It was another three days -- days of constant Israeli bombardment of Lebanon, destroying the country and injuring countless civilians -- before Nasrallah hit Haifa again, including a shell that killed eight workers in a railway depot.

No one should have been surprised. Nasrallah was doing exactly what he had threatened to do if Israel refused to negotiate and chose the path of war instead. Although the international media quoted his ominous televised message that “Haifa is just the beginning”, Nasrallah in fact made his threat conditional on Israel’s continuing strikes against Lebanon. In the same speech he warned: “ As long as the enemy pursues its aggression without limits and red lines , we will pursue the confrontation without limits and red lines.” Well, Israel did, and so now has Nasrallah."
http://www.zmag.org/content/showarticle.cfm?SectionID=107&ItemID=10643

Jingoist, are you aware that Israel continues to occupy the Golan Heights as it builds illegal settlements and encampments to steal even more land and water resources? The Lebanese want the occupation to end and they want their people who are held hostage back.
Are you aware that Israel continues to hold hostages "bargaining chips?" "The US-Israel regard kidnapping is quite fine, including kidnapping of civilians, a far worse crime under international law than kidnapping of soldiers." You can't see that these actions are provocations?

The cross border raid by Israel ( extremely underreported in the US ) on June 24th to kidnap two civilians is only one of many examples . Since the powerful don't investigate their own crimes, details are unknown, but there is plenty of evidence nevertheless. For example, the shocking revelations about Israel's secret prison/torture chambers, far worse than Guantanamo, in which hundreds of Lebanese have been kept, many abducted from Lebanon, some kept as hostages for many years. No one knows what happened to them, beyond the few who are acknowledged. There are some who are concerned about them, among them the father of the captured Israeli soldier Ehud Goldwasser, who express his sympathy for the families of the abducted Lebanese prisoners in Israeli jails (Israeli radio, July 20)."

Translations that don't match

"Implementing our promise to free Arab prisoners in Israeli jails, our strugglers have captured two Israeli soldiers in southern Lebanon," a statement by Hezbollah said. 'The two soldiers have already been moved to a safe place,' it added. - Hezbollah captures two Israeli soldiers

"Fulfilling its pledge to liberate the (Arab) prisoners and detainees, the Islamic Resistance ... captured two Israeli soldiers at the border with occupied Palestine," Hezbollah said in a statement, adding that the "two captives were transferred to a safe place." - Hezbollah seizes Israel soldiers

It would be good to know who got it right. The original statement would shed light on this and I had been saying to others who had made up their minds that I had not made a definitive conclusion on what it means. And that was before I found the second translation I listed here. The second translation sounds better worded and based on that and Jonathan Cook's reporting, I would think the second one is the accurate translation. And it is the one that Chomsky refers to. He probably read it in the BBC or Haaretz.

The second one does jive with what Jonathan Cook reported in his July 25th article, Five myths that help Israel’s war crimes:"Early on July 12 Hizbullah launched a raid against an army border post, in what was in the best interpretation a foolhardy violation of Israeli sovereignty. In the fighting the Shiite militia killed three soldiers and captured two others, while Hizbullah fired a few mortars at border areas in what the Israeli army described at the time as "diversionary tactics". As a result of the shelling, five Israelis were "lightly injured", with most needing treatment for shock, according to the Haaretz newspaper.

Israel's immediate response was to send a tank into Lebanon in pursuit of the Hizbullah fighters (its own foolhardy violation of Lebanese sovereignty). The tank ran over a landmine, which exploded killing four soldiers inside. Another soldier died in further clashes inside Lebanon as his unit tried to retrieve the bodies.

Rather than open diplomatic channels to calm the violence down and start the process of getting its soldiers back, Israel launched bombing raids deep into Lebanese territory the same day."

Could the first translation be what Associated Press Writer Joseph Panossian based his initial report on?

UPDATE: Chomsky emailed me back saying, "The second one is surely the right one."

5:41 AM ET, Associated Press Writer Joseph Panossian originally reported "The militant group Hezbollah captured two Israeli soldiers during clashes Wednesday across the border in southern Lebanon"

7:09 AM ET, Associated Press Writer Joseph Panossian had changed his report to read: "The Hezbollah militant group captured two Israeli soldiers during clashes along the Lebanese border on Wednesday."

4:13 PM ET, Associated Press Writer Joseph Panossian had again changed his report, this time to read: "Hezbollah militants crossed into Israel on Wednesday and captured two Israeli soldiers. "

"The Israelis so far have not been able to enter Aitaa al-Chaab to recover the tank that was exploded by Hezbollah and the bodies of the soldiers that were killed in the original operation "

But the location of the tank could be explained, Jonathan Cook writes in a July 25th article, Five myths that help Israel's war crimes, "Early on July 12 Hizbullah launched a raid against an army border post, in what was in the best interpretation a foolhardy violation of Israeli sovereignty. In the fighting the Shiite militia killed three soldiers and captured two others, while Hizbullah fired a few mortars at border areas in what the Israeli army described at the time as "diversionary tactics". Rather than open diplomatic channels to calm the violence down and start the process of getting its soldiers back, Israel launched bombing raids deep into Lebanese territory the same day."

In this article, Cook exposes 5 Israeli myths including a very recent one about the timeline of the missle attacks: "The first myth is that Israel was forced to pound Lebanon with its military hardware because Hizbullah began "raining down" rockets on the Galilee."

Dear NewsHour

Dear NewsHour,

On your web page, http://www.pbs.org/newshour/bb/middle_east/jan-june06/gaza_06-28.html you write, "troops crossed the Gaza border for the first time since the Israeli withdrawal 10 months ago" but that is incorrect. The first time the Israeli army had re-entered the Gaza Strip, directly violating Palestinian control of the territory, since it supposedly left in August last year was on June 24, when Israel kidnapped two civilians.

You and the nearly every other mainstream outlet in America have suppressed the fact that Israel kidnapped TWO CIVILIANS, a doctor and his brother, from their home in Gaza on June 24, the day BEFORE the Israeli soldier was captured. And you have incorrectly reported when the first time Israel troops crossed the Gaza border actually was. It was, as I pointed out, actually on June 24th.

Please make the correction on air and stop suppressing and distorting the news. I have to ask how many Palestinians have to be killed or how many abused by Israel or kidnapped by Israel before it counts as provocation? Why do you always say it is Palestinian actions that are the provocation? You are doing a grave disservice to your viewers.

Ironic?

Eve76 writes posted this comment at my YouTube YouTube video about Lebanon and Israel: "it is ironic how israel is described as a terrorist state by people who teach their children to kill, kill, kill rather than to read, write, and decipher so they can make intelligent decisions as adults regarding their situation with israel."

ironic? Here are Israeli children who are taught to do both, write and kill.

A solution has to acknowledge what has been blocking a solution.

Meteor Blades asks "What's Your Solution?" for the Israel/Palestine problem but he wants us to "disremember the past"

I replied:

The question can't be contemplated in a vacuum.

A solution has to acknowledge what has been blocking a solution.

A solution should achieve justice right? The very nature of what Zionist Israel has imposed and continues to impose is unjust. An unpleasant reality is that Israel refuses to allow non-Jews to have equal rights, the same rights that we Americans expect for themselves.

A just solution would be to allow all the people living in Israel and the occupied territories to have full and equal rights but by definition, by definition, that means the destruction of Israel. That is because Israel is set up to be a Jewish State and what they have been doing is trying to get the least amount of non-Jews and the most of the best land and water under within the Jewish State. Imagine telling blacks here in American that they have to live under a "white state" and you can start to get the idea of what the problem is. Even before the 20th century, some Jews saw warning signs that the Jews moving into Palestine were not going to respect the non-Jewish inhabitants. Ahad Aham, a Jewish critic of Zionist supremacy, complained in 1891 that "they treat the Arabs with hostility and cruelty, deprive them of their rights, offend them without cause, and even boast of these deeds; and nobody among us opposes this despicable and dangerous inclination."

As early as 1924 these sick racist Zionists killed Jews because they stood in the way of their racist plan. Even a religious Jew was targeted by Zionists as he left his synagogue.

And today the majority of Jews still have a despicable inclination: More than half the Jewish population of Israel - 53 percent - is opposed to full equal rights for Israeli Arabs, according to a survey conducted last month by the Israel Democracy Institute. Imagine asking white people in America if they thought blacks should have full equal rights. I am sure nearly all white Americans would find the question itself offensive! Maybe you now get an idea of what the problem is. There are so many deceptions about Israel fed to the American public.

What most people have resigned themselves to is allowing the Zionists to get away with imposing a Jewish State upon hundreds of thousands of non-Jews living in Israel.

Each solution is undermined by the Zionist's goal. We have to acknowledge that for 25 years, the United States has blocked the political settlement, which is supported by the majority of the American population and by the entire world, except for Israel.

"They came up with several plans of which the most well known is what's called the Geneva Accord was presented in December 2002. Most of the world, you know, very much favors, sent representatives, had strong comments. Israel flatly rejected it. The United States just dismissed it, they didn't talk about it. It wasn't the end but it was a basis for a two state settlement pretty much in accord with the international consensus that has been quite clear for 30 years. U.S. flatly rejects it. Israel rejects it. That's it."

A two-state solution is blocked by Israel and the U.S. You can't overlook the constant land theft underway presently. "In the first nine months of 2005, an estimated 14,000 settlers moved to the West Bank while 8,500 left Gaza, and more land was taken in the West Bank than was abandoned in the entire Gaza prison left behind." p201 Failed States

We could have a solution if Israel and the U.S abided by International Law and International agreements, by they don't want to. It has been game after game, right from the beginning. For example, Israel was accepted into the United Nations on condition that it accept the Right of Return of the Palestinian refugees. They got in and then refused to respect the Right of Return. And while they refuse to let non-Jews return to their homes, the continue to move into the occupied territories in violation of International Law.

And your examples don't give justice to the history, there is so much misinformation in order to hide the reality of what the Zionists have done. You wrote "You can't stop the 1947 partition or the '48 war." There wasn't a "1947 partition", there was only a proposal for partition and in practice, Zionists did not accept the UN Partition Plan. Zionists seized areas beyond the proposed Jewish State and did not recognize the International Zone. Using force and terrorism months before May 1948, Jews seized land beyond the UN proposed borders. The UN Plan was used as a pretense for taking over most of Palestine. The majority of the people living in Palestine, over 67% percent, did not want their land chopped up into 7 pieces and it was their democratic right to turn down the proposal. Less than 33% of the population had no right to insist that the proposal was binding. What American would say that a UN proposal forces over 67% of the people to give up their rights? These facts do matter, ignoring history serves the Zionist agenda.

Media Matters continues to play its game

Over at "Media Matters" it is the ongoing game of ignoring what the media is doing with regard to the Israel-Lebanon conflict. Their big concern is that Republicans, conservatives dominate network morning-show coverage of Israeli-Hezbollah conflict

But several people commenting show they know the deal:

West1 comments "Unfortunately, by not airing the Democrats, we are not missing out on hearing a different opinion of the Israeli-Hezbollah conflict."

"Yes, both parties are even more pro-Israeli agression than the Israelis themselves. What would the Democrats have said if they were on the shows?" writes funnymanpants.

"Sadly, however, the other commentators on this thread are correct: if more Democrats were featured on talk shows on Israel and Lebanon, they would simply echo (or perhaps try to outdo) the simplistic, one-sided, and hawkish sentiments of their Republican counterparts," writes syaqub8432.

redking75687 wrote, "Putting them on tv to tell us the same pro-Israel b.s. we've heard over and over again would be pointless."

I agree, it would be pointless for more Democrats to be on talking about Israel, we would just hear the same pro-Israel b.s. we've heard before. They sure as hell won't be teling us the news that has been surpressed like about "the first time the Israeli army had re-entered the Gaza Strip, directly violating Palestinian control of the territory, since it supposedly left in August last year." Israel crossed the border into Gaza and kidnapped two civilians. That was June 24th, the day before the Israeli soldier was captured.

sasami said, "It'd be interesting to see a Noam Chomsky or Normal Finkelstein on to discuss these things for a change. Or a more mainstream name, Ralph Nader."

I responded, "sasami, here you go: see Chomsky discussing Lebanon Israel Facts the Media Isn't Telling You. Noam Chomsky reveals facts like the abduction of the two Gaza civilians June 24, BEFORE the Israeli soldiers were captured. Watch this video and learn the background that the mainstream media doesn't report."

Dear Israel supporters

Dear Israel supporters,

When Israel infiltrated the Gaza border in a brazen raid on June 24th and kidnapped two civilians, did that give the Palestinians the right to do to Israel what Israel is doing to Lebanon? This incursion was the first into Gaza since the implementation of the Israeli Disengagement Plan in September 2005!

Israel has been killing and oppressing Palestinians the whole time. It is simply wrong to claim Hezbollah an Hamas "started the hostilities." You ignore Israel's constant intense repression; Israel's abductions; Israel's atrocities in Gaza and Israel's steady takeover of the West Bank.

You overlook or probably don't even know about Israel's abduction of TWO CIVILIANS, a doctor and his brother, from their home in Gaza on June24, the very day before the abduction of the Israeli soldier! http://tinyurl.com/s6c7g Link

"It was the first time the Israeli army had re-entered the Gaza Strip, directly violating Palestinian control of the territory, since it supposedly left in August last year." That is newsworthy but the media has kept almost all Americans ignorant of this fact!

If you think Hezbollah 's capturing two Israeli SOLDIERS counts as "starting it" why doesn't Israel's crossing over the border into Gaza and kidnapping two civilians count as "starting it"? since that happened first! And that was much worse than going after a military target. Please watch this video about Lebanon Israel and Facts the Media Isn't Telling You

The kidnappings of the brothers was before the Israeli soldiers were captured and was on top of all the Israeli crimes against other civilians for example from June alone:

* Israeli mock air raids over Gaza were carried out to terrorize the population, firing missiles at uninhabited areas, including a playground, and flying low over densely populated civilian areas. (1-7 June)
* Israeli gunboats shot at Gaza's coast and wounded 2 Palestinian children playing on the beach (1 June)
* Israeli border positions fired artillery shells at Jabalya town, injuring two Palestinian children inside their homes, and at Um al-Nasser village, injuring a 48-year-old Palestinian man (3 June)
* An Israeli missile attack on a car carrying Palestinian militants kills two civilians (5 June)
* Israel fired artillery shells at 3 Palestinian attempting to enter Israel through the fence, killing two and injuring the third. Shrapnel killed a member of the Palestinian police and wounded another, together with 4 civilians, including a 5-year-old and 17-year-old children, and a 50-year-old man (7 June).
* Israel's shelled people enjoying their weekend on Gaza's beach, killing 8 Palestinian civilians including 7 members of the same family, and injuring a further 32 civilians including 13 children (9 June)
* Three Palestinian civilians were killed when Israel fired a missile at a car near Jabalya (9 June)
* An Israeli missile attack on a van driven by Palestinian militants on a busy Gazan highway killed eleven Palestinians including 2 children and 2 paramedics, and injured 30 Palestinians including a number of children (13 June)
* Israel opened fire at a funeral procession east of Jabalya, wounding three 15-year-old children following the procession (13 June)
* An Israeli missile attack on Palestinian militants missed its target and instead killed 3 children and wounded 13 civilians, including 7 children, aged 2, 5, 8, 9, 11, 11, and 16 (20 June)
* An Israeli missile attack that missed its target hit a family home and killed a Palestinian brother and his pregnant sister. The missile injured 11 others, including 7 children aged 2, 3, 5, 7, 9, 14, and 14. Four civilians, including a 10-year-old child, were injured near the home. (21 June)

And Shochu John quotes Juan Cole reader's comment: "Given the 15 or so deaths of Turkish soldiers and police at the hands of Kurd "terrorists" over the past few weeks - and the inability of the Government of Iraq to control these "terrorists" - I wonder if U.S. officials believe that Turkey has the right to defend itself by bombing the Baghdad airport, destroying bridges and roads in Iraq, and generally smashing the hell out of Kurdish territory. Probably not."

On July 12th, Anthony Shadid, Scott Wilson and Debbi Wilgoren, of the Washington Post Foreign Service, did not say which side of the border in their article Hezbollah Captures 2 Israeli Soldiers , "The militant Shiite Muslim group Hezbollah captured two Israeli soldiers along the Israel-Lebanon border Wednesday morning, and Israeli officials said seven more soldiers were killed after tanks and troops moved into Lebanon in response to the attack." [as seen in google cache.] But that article was rewritten and on July 13th it read: "The Lebanese Shiite Muslim group Hezbollah infiltrated the Israeli border Wednesday in a brazen raid, capturing two Israeli soldiers, killing three others and prompting Israeli attacks on the airport in Beirut and bridges, roads, power stations and military positions across the hillsides of southern Lebanon."

Asking this question "Where exactly were those Israeli soldiers when Hezbollah captured them?" is an attempt to get to the bottom of this specific fact. Note in my update that I quote Jonathan Cook who writes, in a July 25th article, Five myths that help Israel's war crimes, "Early on July 12 Hizbullah launched a raid against an army border post"

Jonathan Cook mentions in his article that " We now know from reports in the US media that the Israeli army had been planning such a strike against Lebanon for at least a year." see Israel set war plan more than a year ago

Shochu John quotes Juan Cole reader's comment: "Given the 15 or so deaths of Turkish soldiers and police at the hands of Kurd "terrorists" over the past few weeks - and the inability of the Government of Iraq to control these "terrorists" - I wonder if U.S. officials believe that Turkey has the right to defend itself by bombing the Baghdad airport, destroying bridges and roads in Iraq, and generally smashing the hell out of Kurdish territory. Probably not."

Also, you might want to check out his video: Lebanon Israel Facts the Media Isn't Telling You

Israel did many horrible things to the Palestinians living Gaza BEFORE June 25. Noam Chomsky reveals facts like the abduction of the two Gaza civilians June 24, BEFORE the Israeli soldiers were captured.

On 7/2/06 Gideon Levy of Haaretz reported, "It's no accident that nobody mentions the day before the attack on the Kerem Shalom fort, when the IDF kidnapped TWO CIVILIANS, a doctor and his brother, from their home in Gaza."

Jonathan Cook writes, "Few readers of a British newspaper would have noticed the story. In the Observer of 25 June, it merited a mere paragraph hidden in the "World in brief" section, revealing that the previous day a team of Israeli commandos had entered the Gaza Strip to "detain" two Palestinians Israel claims are members of Hamas. The significance of the mission was alluded to in a final phrase describing this as "the first arrest raid in the territory since Israel pulled out of the area a year ago". More precisely, it was the first time the Israeli army had re-entered the Gaza Strip, directly violating Palestinian control of the territory, since it supposedly left in August last year."

The media's non-reporting is all the more amazing since, as mentioned, this incursion was the first into Rafah since the implementation of the Israeli Disengagement Plan in September 2005!

About the civilian brothers, Chomsky wrote, "My sources were Gideon Levy, Ha'aretz, July 2, 2005; Jonathan Cook, July 30, who reviewed British press notices of the kidnapping, marginal and understated, in the media critique journal Medialens. David Peterson has since done a media search. He found brief mention in the Baltimore Sun and LA Times, dismissing it as quite normal (Hamas militant, suspected Hamas militant, therefore OK -- soldier in an army attacking Gaza, definitely not OK, in fact a major crime). He also found serious coverage, even identifying the victims (not worth naming in the US and UK), in the Turkish Daily News, June 25, an immediate report."

To those supporting massive retaliation

The fact is the June 25 capture of the Israeli soldier was retaliation for Israel's actions.

According to the reasoning of many pro-Israel supporters, Hamas had the right to rain down thousands of missiles on Israel for the June 24 kidnapping of the brothers from Gaza.

On June 24, when Israel seized two Palestinians in “the first arrest raid in the territory since Israel pulled out of the area a year agothe American mainstream media was silent.

"Israel abducted the two Gaza civilians, a doctor and his brother. We don't know their names. You don't know the names of victims. They were taken to Israel, presumably, and nobody knows their fate. The next day, something happened, which we do know about, a lot. Militants in Gaza, probably Islamic Jihad, abducted an Israeli soldier across the border. That's Corporal Gilad Shalit. And that's well known; the first abduction is not."See the facts about Lebanon, Israel, Gaza Hezbollah and the Palestinians

Noam Chomsky reveals facts like the abduction of the two Gaza civilians June 24, BEFORE the Israeli soldiers were captured. Learn the background that the mainstream media doesn't report.

A question for those who support retaliation, now that you know the facts, do you support Hamas' retaliation against Israel?

And the June 24 kidnapping of the brothers from Gaza wasn't the first action against the Palestinians in recent weeks.

* On June 8, the Israeli army assassinated the recently appointed Palestinian head of the security forces of the Interior Ministry, Jamal Abu Samhadana, and three others.

* On June 9, Israeli shells killed seven members of the same family picnicking on Beit Lahiya beach. Some 32 others were wounded, including 13 children.

* On June 13, an Israeli plane fired a missile into a busy Gaza City street, killing 11 people, including two children and two medics.

* On June 20, the Israeli army killed three Palestinian children and injured 15 others in Gaza with a missile attack.

* On June 21, the Israelis killed a 35-year old pregnant woman, her brother, and injured 11 others, including 6 children.

* Then came the Israeli capture of two Palestinians on June 24, followed by the Palestinian capture of the Israeli soldier and the killing of the two other soldiers.

After the beach deaths, Hamas, the ruling party in the Palestinian Authority, broke an 18-month ceasefire and joined other militant groups in firing Kassam rockets into Israel. The Financial Times reported on June 23 that the missiles, principally targeted towards the Israel town of Sderot, have caused damage and some casualties but no fatalities in the recent barrages. A June 29 Guardian leader noted that the home-made Kassam rockets are "not in the same league as Israel's hi-tech (though not always accurate) weaponry"

But you supporters of massive retaliation, now that you know the facts, you support massive retaliation against Israel for all the Israeli actions PRIOR to June 25.

Help the campaign to get these facts to fellow Americans, the Mainstream media is playing us for fools.

why declare jihad against the US government?

Why did Osama bin Laden declare a jihad against the US government?

Notice how the reporter tries to steer bin Laden's grievances towards fixating on the US presence in Saudi Arabia, note the reporter's second question too.

This is from the 1997 interview:

REPORTER: Mr. Bin Ladin, you've declared a jihad against the United States. Can you tell us why? And is the jihad directed against the US government or the United States' troops in Arabia? What about US civilians in Arabia or the people of the United States?

BIN LADIN: We declared jihad against the US government, because the US government is unjust, criminal and tyrannical. It has committed acts that are extremely unjust, hideous and criminal whether directly or through its support of the Israeli occupation of the Prophet's Night Travel Land (Palestine). And we believe the US is directly responsible for those who were killed in Palestine, Lebanon and Iraq. The mention of the US reminds us before everything else of those innocent children who were dismembered, their heads and arms cut off in the recent explosion that took place in Qana (in Lebanon). This US government abandoned even humanitarian feelings by these hideous crimes. It transgressed all bounds and behaved in a way not witnessed before by any power or any imperialist power in the world. They should have been considerate that the qibla (Mecca) of the Muslims upheaves the emotion of the entire Muslim World. Due to its subordination to the Jews the arrogance and haughtiness of the US regime has reached, to the extent that they occupied the qibla of the Muslims (Arabia) who are more than a billion in the world today. For this and other acts of aggression and injustice, we have declared jihad against the US, because in our religion it is our duty to make jihad so that God's word is the one exalted to the heights and so that we drive the Americans away from all Muslim countries. As for what you asked whether jihad is directed against US soldiers, the civilians in the land of the Two Holy Places (Saudi Arabia, Mecca and Medina) or against the civilians in America, we have focused our declaration on striking at the soldiers in the country of The Two Holy Places. The country of the Two Holy Places has in our religion a peculiarity of its own over the other Muslim countries. In our religion, it is not permissible for any non-Muslim to stay in our country. Therefore, even though American civilians are not targeted in our plan, they must leave. We do not guarantee their safety, because we are in a society of more than a billion Muslims. A reaction might take place as a result of US government's hitting Muslim civilians and executing more than 600 thousand Muslim children in Iraq by preventing food and medicine from reaching them. So, the US is responsible for any reaction, because it extended its war against troops to civilians. This is what we say. As for what you asked regarding the American people, they are not exonerated from responsibility, because they chose this government and voted for it despite their knowledge of its crimes in Palestine, Lebanon, Iraq and in other places and its support of its agent regimes who filled our prisons with our best children and scholars. We ask that may God release them.

REPORTER: Mr. Bin Ladin, will the end of the United States' presence in Saudi Arabia, their withdrawal, will that end your call for jihad against the United States and against the US ?

BIN LADIN: The cause of the reaction must be sought and the act that has triggered this reaction must be eliminated. The reaction came as a result of the US aggressive policy towards the entire Muslim world and not just towards the Arabian peninsula. So if the cause that has called for this act comes to an end, this act, in turn, will come to an end. So, the driving-away jihad against the US does not stop with its withdrawal from the Arabian peninsula, but rather it must desist from aggressive intervention against Muslims in the whole world.

Today, does Peter Bergen give an accurate account of the 1997 interview?
From CNN LATE EDITION WITH WOLF BLITZER July 9, 2006:

BLITZER: How much of the terror threat out there is a result of the grievances from the Israeli-Palestinian conflict as opposed to other issues that al Qaida and other terrorists have put forward?

BERGEN: You know, if you ask Osama bin Laden in '97, as we did on CNN, what were his grievances, they were principally the U.S. military presence in Saudi Arabia, the sanctions against Iraq. He did mention the Israeli-Palestinian problem as well. I don't think the notion that bin Laden and al Qaida are late to the Palestinian problem I think has been overblown.

For them, of course, you know, the three holiest places in Islam are Mecca, Medina and of course the Dome of the Rock in Jerusalem. I think this is a motivating factor. There are others. Of course, the situation in Kashmir, what is going on in Iraq. I think Iraq, by the way, has -- if you look at the jihadi Web sites, Iraq is what they're going on about now, not so much the Israeli-Palestinian problem.

BLITZER: You mentioned the U.S. military presence in Iraq as the grievance. Is that more significant than the Israeli-Palestinian problem?

MAKHZOUMI: The core problem in the Middle East is the Arab- Israeli conflict. And I believe that the United States now since they've taken the decision to go into direct negotiations, through a multilateral composition, with Iran, I think they should do the same with Syria. They should do the same thing with all the Arab countries. Because at the end of the day, the United States is the strongest superpower in the world.

So why are they worried about it? I mean, dialogue, at any time, will minimize death.

BLITZER: Fouad Makhzoumi, Peter Bergen, thanks to both of you for coming in.

NOTE: In 1997, they did ask bin Laden what were his grievances and you can see from the above that the first specific thing bin Laden mentioned when asked why did he declare the jihad against the US was US support of the Israeli occupation.
On TV, pundits often lapse into Israel damage control mode and downplay or deny facts concerning Israel.

Dishonesty about 9/11 motives robs Americans of the freedom to decide for ourselves if we want to put our lives at risk over specific foreign policies.

Osama bin Laden has been clearly stating the motives for the jihad for years: "The International Islamic Front for Jihad against the U.S. and Israel has issued a crystal-clear fatwa calling on the Islamic nation to carry on jihad aimed at liberating holy sites. The nation of Muhammad has responded to this appeal. If the instigation for jihad against the Jews and the Americans in order to liberate Al-Aksa Mosque and the Holy Ka'aba Islamic shrines in the Middle East is considered a crime, then let history be a witness that I am a criminal." - Osama bin Laden May 1999

"Your position against Muslims in Palestine is despicable and disgraceful. America has no shame. ... We believe that the worst thieves in the world today and the worst terrorists are the Americans. Nothing could stop you except perhaps retaliation in kind. We do not have to differentiate between military or civilian. As far as we are concerned, they are all targets, and this is what the fatwah says ... . The fatwah is general (comprehensive) and it includes all those who participate in, or help the Jewish occupiers in killing Muslims. " - Osama bin Laden May 1998

"For over half a century, Muslims in Palestine have been slaughtered and assaulted and robbed of their honor and of their property. Their houses have been blasted, their crops destroyed. And the strange thing is that any act on their part to avenge themselves or to lift the injustice befalling them causes great agitation in the United Nations which hastens to call for an emergency meeting only to convict the victim and to censure the wronged and the tyrannized whose children have been killed and whose crops have been destroyed and whose farms have been pulverized " - Osama bin Laden May 1998

These statements are all before 9/11. The crystal clear 1998 Fatwa says: "No one argues today about three facts that are known to everyone; we will list them, in order to remind everyone: "
It then lists three clear motives:

1. U.S. occupation of the Arabian Peninsula.

"First, for over seven years the United States has been occupying the lands of Islam in the holiest of places, the Arabian Peninsula, plundering its riches, dictating to its rulers, humiliating its people, terrorizing its neighbors, and turning its bases in the Peninsula into a spearhead through which to fight the neighboring Muslim peoples.
If some people have in the past argued about the fact of the occupation, all the people of the Peninsula have now acknowledged it. The best proof of this is the Americans' continuing aggression against the Iraqi people using the Peninsula as a staging post, even though all its rulers are against their territories being used to that end, but they are helpless."

2. U.S. aggression against the Iraqi people.

"Second, despite the great devastation inflicted on the Iraqi people by the crusader-Zionist alliance, and despite the huge number of those killed, which has exceeded 1 million... despite all this, the Americans are once against trying to repeat the horrific massacres, as though they are not content with the protracted blockade imposed after the ferocious war or the fragmentation and devastation. So here they come to annihilate what is left of this people and to humiliate their Muslim neighbors."

3. U.S. support of Israel.

"Third, if the Americans' aims behind these wars are religious and economic, the aim is also to serve the Jews' petty state and divert attention from its occupation of Jerusalem and murder of Muslims there. The best proof of this is their eagerness to destroy Iraq, the strongest neighboring Arab state, and their endeavor to fragment all the states of the region such as Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, and Sudan into paper statelets and through their disunion and weakness to guarantee Israel's survival and the continuation of the brutal crusade occupation of the Peninsula."

Pundits should not be trying to rob Americans of the freedom to decide for ourselves if we want to put our lives at risk over specific foreign policies.

Look at the facts. The 9/11 Commission reported on the motive of the "mastermind of the Sept. 11 attacks." On page 147 of the 9/11 Commission Report, it says "By his own account, Khalid Sheikh Mohammed's animus toward the United States stemmed not from his experiences there as a student, but rather from his violent disagreement with U.S. foreign policy favoring Israel. "" see Khalid Shaikh Mohammed's motivation was his objection to the US foreign policy of supporting Israel said the final report of the Sept. 11 Commission.

The two terrorist pilots who crashed the two planes into the WTC shared the same motivation. Mohammed Atta, who flew into WTC 1, was described by one Ralph Bodenstein, who traveled, worked and talked with him, as "most imbued actually about Israeli politics in the region and about U.S. protection of these Israeli politics in the region. And he was to a degree personally suffering from that." Marwan al-Shehhi, the pilot who flew into WTC 2, was focused on the same thing, "when someone asked why he and Atta never laughed, Shehhi retorted,"How can you laugh when people are dying in Palestine?"" - page 162 THE 9/11 COMMISSION REPORT

These facts point to a motive for attacking the WTC in 2001 that is consistent with the motive expressed by terrorists in a letter sent to the New York Times after the 1993 bombing attack of the WTC, "We declare our responsibility for the explosion on the mentioned building. This action was done in response for the American political, economical, and military support to Israel the state of terrorism and to the rest of the dictator countries in the region." Ramzi Yousef, the 1993 WTC bomber, was motivated to attack the US because of US support of Israel: He had no other motivation, no other issue.

It is also the same motive that Mir Aimal Kasi had for killing CIA employees Frank Darling and Lansing Bennett outside CIA headquarters in Langley, Virginia in 1993 . Mir Aimal Kasi said, "What I did was a retaliation against the US government for American policy in the Middle East and its support of Israel."

There is no evidence that bin Laden isn't actually angered by the specific foreign policies he complains about. It is extremely unlikely that bin Laden didn't actually object to the specific foreign policies that he complains about, millions and millions of other people object to the same policies, by what "logic" would it be that bin Laden would be in a extremely small minority that "doesn't care" about the policies or thinks they are fine?

Mainstream media certainly has not made it easy to understand what motivated the terrorists who attacked us on 9/11.

Jones debunked

Mark, you post Jones' paper while ignoring the points I made which debunk it. NIST doesn't claim the core columns pulled the exterior columns in via the floor

And when Jones quotes NIST, "To the extent that the simulations deviated from the photographic evidence or eyewitness reports" and then adds "[e.g., complete collapse occurred]" it shows he is a fool. The photographic evidence and eyewitness reports were of the changes to the buildings BEFORE the collapses, the bowing columns and sagging floors. Jones knows the simulations were not of the collapses but rather of the events that led to the collapse so why does he write such nonsense like "e.g., complete collapse occurred"? The reason is he doesn't want to admit the photographic evidence and eyewitness reports of the changes to the buildings BEFORE the collapses. The buildings were showing signs that the fires were damaging them in the minutes BEFORE the collapses. This debunks the foolish "controlled demolition theory"! What does it take for people to admit basic facts? Why are you posting Jones' garbage and ignoring the facts that debunk it?

London Bombers' Motives

CNN's show called Anderson Cooper 360 plays a clip of London suicide bomber but only plays this part: "What you have witnessed now is only the beginning of a strain of attacks that will continue and become stronger"

COOPER: We begin with the terror tape and a dead man talking.

(BEGIN VIDEOTAPE)

COOPER (voice-over): The video, like so many others from al Qaeda, first appeared on Al-Jazeera. Shehzad Tanweer, one of the London suicide bombers, seems to appear from beyond the grave, a dead man talking on a video recorded months before he detonated his bomb on a crowded subway train a year ago.

SHEHZAD TANWEER, LONDON SUICIDE BOMBER: What you have witnessed now is only the beginning.

COOPER: He is the second bomber to send such a message. The first, from suspected ringleader Mohammad Sidique Khan, was released just before 9/11 last year.

MOHAMMAD SIDIQUE KHAN, LONDON SUICIDE BOMBER: Until we feel secured, you will be our targets.

COOPER: Tanweer, like Khan, threatened more attacks.

This latest video was designed, says a senior Scotland Yard officer, to cause maximum hurt to the families and friends of those who died last July 7, also, says a terrorism expert, to win new recruits to al Qaeda.

ASSAF MOGHADAM, RESEARCH FELLOW, HARVARD UNIVERSITY: What the video footage does, it -- it helps empower the organization. It actually helps portray the organization as more important and more powerful than it actually is. And that, then, has an -- an effect on -- on people who potentially will join the -- the group.

The Christian Science Monitor, the LA Times, CBS news, ABC news reported only this much in reports: "What you have witnessed now is only the beginning of a strain of attacks that will continue and become stronger until you pull your forces out of Afghanistan and Iraq"

The New York Times, the Australian Broadcasting Corporation, the Times (of the UK), among others, managed to give a full quote that mentions all the motives, the demands made to the British government: "What you have witnessed now is only the beginning of a strain of attacks that will continue and become stronger until you pull your forces out of Afghanistan and Iraq, and until you stop your financial and military support to America and Israel."

ABC NEWS OMITS Mention of AMERICA and ISRAEL

This AP report at ABC NEWS leaves out "and until you stop your financial and military support to America and Israel."
ABC NEWS International at this web site: Video: 2 London Bombers al-Qaida Trained

Glancing down at his text, which was off-camera, Tanweer said: "I tell every British citizen to stop your support to your lying British government and to the so-called war on terror. And ask yourselves: Why would thousands of men be ready to give their lives for the cause of Muslims?"

"What you have witnessed now is only the beginning of a series of attacks that will continue and increase in strength until you withdraw your soldiers from Afghanistan and Iraq," he warned.

NOTE: The next part, the end of this sentence, is "and until you stop your financial and military support to America and Israel." but the AP report at ABC NEWS leaves this out.
The question is why the AP chops off the end of the sentence that mentions Israel. Many news outlets rely on the AP and end up with reports that omit what AP omits.

Countdown with Keith Olbermann Plays the Same Game of Omitting Motives on July 7

Dawna Friesen, NBC News, London, is playing the game by playing the clip of the 7/7 suicide bomber saying "What you have witnessed now is only the beginning" BUT cutting off the end part of the sentence which was: "of a strain of attacks that will continue and become stronger until you pull your forces out of Afghanistan and Iraq, and until you stop your financial and military support to America and Israel."

OLBERMANN:... Solemn remembrances and simmering anger and anxiety, covered for us by our correspondent in London, Dawna Friesen.

(BEGIN VIDEOTAPE)

DAWNA FRIESEN, MSNBC CORRESPONDENT (voice-over): Today, there was silence, two minutes to reflect and pay tribute to the 52 who died.

The images from that day are as unforgettable as they are horrific. Four bombs, three on the Underground, one on a bus. All four bombers, caught on security cameras hours before, died in the blast.

Yesterday, the video farewell of one of the bombers surfaced. In it, al Qaeda‘s second in command, Ayman al-Zawahiri, claims two of the bombers trained in al Qaeda camps.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: What you have witnessed now is only the beginning.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

FRIESEN: His thick Yorkshire accent a chilling reminder his hatred was home-grown.

(on camera): Police have, they say, foiled three, possibly four terrorist plots since last July, have 70 active investigations under way, and say they have at least 1,200 suspicious people under surveillance.

(voice-over): But one year later, no one has been arrested in connection with July 7.

CRISPIN BLACK, FORMER BRITISH INTELLIGENCE ANALYST: A rough rule of thumb is that for each bomber, you have three or four helpers. And the worrying thing about the 7/7 plot is, we haven‘t got any of those people.

FRIESEN: There have been mistakes, botched raids, an innocent man killed, all leading to a dwindling of trust in the police.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: (INAUDIBLE) from the British police shooting people at left, right, and center, OK...

FRIESEN: In this Leeds suburb, where three of the four bombers lived, there‘s a feeling the community is under siege.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Are they going to raid my house next? What happens if I run away, will they shoot me?

FRIESEN: So is Britain any safer today?

PETER CLARKE, METROPOLITAN POLICE: I think the only sensible conclusion to draw is that the threat in London and in the rest of the United Kingdom is very real.

FRIESEN: Apart from a few visible signs of tighter security, daily life has changed little.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: The world has to continue. Life has to continue.

FRIESEN: Never forgetting, but not giving in to fear.

Regurgitating Contrived Zionist Propaganda

Jay, you are regurgitating contrived propaganda.

"If there ever is to be real peace between Israel and the Palestinians, we have to understand the conflict without the myth and propaganda. ... Not surprisingly, or in fact quite naturally, when Israeli historians debunk Israeli myths they receive no press coverage and are completely ignored. It is much easier for us to go on living our myth instead of facing hurtful facts. ... One of the greatest Israeli myths is that most Arabs left their homes on orders from the Arab High Command. To support this myth, the oft-quoted scandalous canard "their leaders told them to leave" was concocted. Assiduous research has shown this to be false. ... The myth of the radio broadcast was important to us because, if followed to its logical conclusion, it allowed all the blame to be placed on the refugees themselves. Since the 750,000 refugees simply left, we had no obligation to let them back. ... We must reevaluate the myths we have created because, while they ease our conscience, they obfuscate our ability to analyze the situation from a political perspective." - "The Palestinian Problem: A Historical Review" by Jeff Bander - article from "The Commentator," the official undergraduate newspaper of Yeshiva University.

By the way, the myth had been debunked decades ago by scholars like Erskine Childers. "they found, on the contrary, that Arab and Palestinian authorities had repeatedly called on the people to stay put." David Hirst, The Gun and the Olive Branch, p626

Jay removed the above post from the wizbang blog, he wants to post lies like this: "Many of those refugees listened to the Arab world's promise that if they just got out of the way, the Arabs would drive the Jews into the sea, and then they could return to their homes. It's been about 60 years, and the Arabs haven't kept that promise" and not have them corrected.

Henry,

I thought you might be interested in a response that "Jay Tea" has decided to delete. I hate to think that no one cares if lies are spread.

It is a shame that "Jay Tea" has decided to delete my responses to you and him. He deprives you and others of learning the truth. His regurgitated claims about "Arab orders" are simply a lie. It is extreme to push propaganda that has been exposed as false decades ago. Does he think the writer of the article I quote and the Yeshiva College Student Council are "lying"?!?

Please review the facts, people should care about the truth. If you see my point, why not let him know?

"If there ever is to be real peace between Israel and the Palestinians, we have to understand the conflict without the myth and propaganda. ...

Killing civilians

Henry, you should do more research and stop with the accusations of "anti-semitism." First of all, I didn't refer to all Jews as Zionists, the whole point of using the term is to distinguish between Jews who support the Zionist agenda and those who do not.

Evidence of early Zionists' murderous refusal of a peaceful coexistence with the Palestinians is perhaps the most dramatic when it involves the killing of Jewish civilians. One of the victims on the list was Jacob de Haan, a Dutch Jew, killed for the "crime" of attempting to work out a peaceful solution between the new settlers and the local Palestinians in 1921. Their own records reveal them saying "another reason for assassinating him was that he was a homosexual."

If you are concerned about Jews then you should respect the history of Jews who actually did stand for justice. Some paid with their lives for insisting that racism is wrong. Zionists killed OTHER JEWS who dared point out what I am saying. The Hagana archives contain the names of 40 JEWS who were killed by Irgun and the Stern Group (Jewish terrorist groups). Look at the example of an anti-Zionist native Jewish inhabitant of Palestine who was assassinated as he left his synagogue in June 1924 by two Haganah agents (Jewish terrorists) As early as 1924 these sick racist Zionists killed Jews because they stood in the way of their racist plan. Even a religious Jew was targeted by Zionists as he left his synagogue.

Zionist terrorist groups killed Jews and non-Jews. From the beginning of the Zionist agenda, terrorist force was planned for and used. "In the single month of July 1938" Zionists killed more Arabs "than Arabs had killed Jews in the whole of that year so far." The terrorist bombing of the Arab Melon Market in Haifa was just one of the Jewish Zionist attacks that inflicted horrific casualties and injuries. The explosion set bodies flying through the air, the bodies "dead, maimed and injured." "Among the blood-spattered human remains were the mangled bodies of three horses, several mules and donkeys which had brought the villager's produce to the crowded market." A Jewish terrorist planted the bomb in the same area where another bomb had been set off just three weeks earlier which had killed 18 Arabs. This bomb killed 53 Arabs and 1 Jew.

The official history of the Irgun makes little pretence that these actions were retaliatory, as is often alleged, referring proundly, for example, to the murder of 27 Arabs to prevent the celebration over the British White Paper limiting Jewish immigration, the murder of more 52 more when an Irgun member was arrested by the British, etc. The record is generally suppressed in the U.S., where cynics refer to terror and intimidation as an invention of the PLO.
The Holocaust has been exploited to the max but it is important to remember that the Zionist agenda started decades before it and has no right to claim it as some sort of excuse for Zionist activities. "Rabbi Shonfeld quotes the Zionist leader Yitzhak Greenbaum, who, after the war, stated:"When they asked me, couldn't you give money out of the United Jewish Appeal funds for the rescue of Jews in Europe, I said, 'NO!' and I say again 'NO!' . . . one should resist this wave which pushes the Zionist activities to secondary importance."

"The overwhelming evidence suggests that the Zionists ignored this - and other pleas - to save the majority of Jews in Europe from the Holocaust, insteading they pursued the policy of building the dream of Zionism - the creation of a Jewish state in Palestine."

"what is certain is that the exclusive concentration on Palestine as a solution, coupled with its intrinsic pessimism as to other alternatives, distracted the Zionist movement as well as large segments of American Jews from giving serious attention to various rescue plans offered by the advocates of separating rescue from political or ideological considerations." quoting the draft of a report from a private commission of prominent American Jews headed by former Supreme Court Justice Arthur Goldberg Fateful Triangle p94

Israel Does Target Civilians and Always Has

A claim often made about Israel is "They don't target innocent civilians. They never have."
That simply is not true.

The Israeli military analyst Zeev Schiff summarized General Gur's comments as follows: "In South Lebanon we struck the civilian population consciously, because they deserved it...the importance of Gur's remarks is the admission that the Israeli Army has always struck civilian populations, purposely and consciously...the Army, he said, has never distinguished civilian (from military) targets... (but) purposely attacked civilian targets even when Israeli settlements had not been struck." see p 181 Fateful Triangle sourced to the Israeli newspaper Ha'aretz May 15, 1978 or see: pp 77-78 The Real Terror Network by Edward S. Herman

The attacks made by Sharon's Unit 101 were "directed against completely innocent civilians in villages that had no known relation to terrorist acts, for example, Qibya, where 66 civilians were massacred in October 1953 in the first major operation of Sharon's Unit 101" 101. The Real Terror Network by Edward S. Herman

"The military doctrine of attacking defenseless civilians derives from David Ben-Gurion, who was quite explicit about it, though not in public of course. In a January 1, 1948 entry in his Independence War Diary, he writes:

"There is no question as to whether a reaction is necessary or not. The question
is only time and place. Blowing up a house is not enough. What is necessary is
cruel and strong reactions. We need precision in time, place, and casualties. If
we know the family, --[we must] strike mercilessly, women and children included.
Otherwise, the reaction is inefficient. At the place of action, there is no need to distinguish between guilty and innocent. p182 Fateful Triangle

"The Diary of former Israeli Prime Minister Moshe Sharett is a major source of evidence for a conscious policy of deliberate, unprovoked cross-border attacks, in which advantage was taken of superior military power and a servile western propaganda machine, with the intent of destabilizing neighboring states and provoking them into military responses. Sharett was a footdragger in these enterprises, often shaken by the ruthlessness of the military establishment-"the long chain of false incidents and hostilities we have invented, and so many clashes we have provoked;" the "narrow-mindedness and short-sightedness of our military leaders" [who] "seem to presume that the State of Israel may-or even must-behave in the realm of international relations according to the laws of the jungle." Sharett himself referred to this long effort as a "sacred terrorism."" p78 The Real Terror Network by Edward S. Herman

Israeli soldiers still target civilians, including children. What reporters have witnessed first hand has been documented by an Israeli human rights group and has been confirmed by Israeli soldiers admissions. Physicians for Human Rights USA, Amnesty International, Human Rights Watch and the Israeli human rights group B'Tselem all confirm the Israeli policy of targeting civilians.
